MEP sees new Buxton investment
Wednesday, 30th August 2006
Buxton, Derbyshire – Derbyshire’s MEP Roger Helmer has paid a visit to the local Buxton Water bottling plant, next to Buxton Station, in order to see firsthand the major new investment which has taken place on the site over the last twelve months.
During the visit on August 22nd, Mr Helmer was shown a new high-speed bottling line which has recently doubled production capacity, achieving a remarkable output from a fairly restricted site.
Buxton Water's parent company Nestlé, which also owns Vittel and San Pellegrino, has invested more than £10m on the site in the last twelve months, ensuring a successful future for the brand. Buxton is one of the leading British brands of bottled water, and is very much a local success story. Some 60% of Britain's population lives within 100 miles of Buxton.
Commenting on his visit, Helmer said:
"I am delighted to see a famous local brand doing so well. Nestlé are to be commended for the support they are putting behind the brand".
