		“Keep flying the flag!” Tuesday, 6th June 2006 Conservative MEPs back The Chron’s ‘Fly the Flag’ campaign Northamptonshire’s Conservative MEPs Roger Helmer and Chris Heaton-Harris have today given their full support to the Chronicle & Echo’s ‘Fly the Flag’ campaign and will be keeping a large flag flying in the European Parliament in Brussels. Speaking today, Roger Helmer said: “I’ve lived and worked all over the world and in most countries, a flag is a symbol of national pride. Why is it only in Britain that we seem to be ashamed of it? I for one will keep flying the flag in my office in Brussels in the European Parliament.” Chris Heaton-Harris said: “We should be proud of our country, our flag and what it stands for. We should fly the flag now to support the England team during the World Cup but also throughout the year to express our national pride.”
