Taking the ‘pis’

Roger Helmer MEP puts the EU Constitution where it belongs

Brussels - Despite the overwhelming rejection of the European Constitution by voters in France and the Netherlands, the EU institutions are determined to resurrect it. MEPs are being urged to act as shock troops in the campaign to spread the word about the Constitution to a largely indifferent and uncomprehending electorate.

Eager to play his part, East Midlands Conservative MEP Roger Helmer went out onto the streets of Brussels in an attempt to find an image that would help convey his views on the issue.

He believes he found the perfect location, in front of the iconic Brussels statue of the "Mannekin Pis". This statue represents a small boy and (as it were) a fountain.

Uncharacteristically, Helmer has not issued any quote alongside this photo. He believes the picture says it all.
