Another MP declares support for leaving the EU
Monday, 8th October 2007
Peter Bone, Conservative MP for Wellingborough, has become the latest Member of Parliament to declare his support for Better Off Out, the cross-party campaign for British independence from the EU. Mr Bone, an experienced businessman who has been in Parliament since 2005, joins MPs, Peers and MEPs from across the political spectrum - including Conservatives, Labour, DUP and UKIP - in campaigning for Britain to become self governing.
Peter Bone MP said:
"Whether it's the one hundred billion pounds that British tax payers have paid the EU since Labour came to power, the flood of hundreds of thousands of legal EU migrants into our country or the loss of British sovereignty, we will be better off out of this bureaucratic, unaccountable and corrupt dictatorship they call the European Union."
Roger Helmer MEP, East Midlands MEP, Better Off Out supporter and Hon. Chairman of
The Freedom Association which runs Better Off Out, welcomed Peter saying:
"Peter Bone is an excellent MP and a good friend of mine. I am delighted he has reached
the same conclusion as me - that after 35 years of seeking to reform the EU, 35 years of
inexorable integration and political union, 35 years of powers passed to Brussels, the time
has come to recognise that the EU is beyond reform, and that in Britain's interests we
should be Better Off Out.
