Letter to the Editor
Nottingham Evening Post - Tuesday, 22 April 2003
Dear Sir,
The Stevens Report on policing in Northern Ireland makes serious allegations of collusion between security forces and Protestant Para-militaries. If such collusion took place, no one should seek to justify it.
But there is a stench of hypocrisy about the reaction of the Republican camp. Sinn Fein/IRA set out to make the administration of justice inoperable in the province. They attacked judges and witnesses, and intimidated juries.
It is a bit rich for Sinn Fein/IRA to complain of a lack of justice and due process in Northern Ireland, when they themselves set out to make the justice system inoperable.
Yours sincerely,
Roger Helmer MEP
